HCE v0.7 not restoring cache 003
HCE v0.7 not restoring cache 003
I recently decided to use HCE so that I could patch my halo files directly on my xbox but the v0.7 does not run off evolutionX... so i run it out of avalaunch. Now this doesnt' bother me that much but what seems to happen is once I patch the cache it never restored the default cache unless i delete the cache and then load the level. If I don't do this halo runs w/ problems because it keeps the patches from the game I played previously and adds the new patches I wish to use along with them. To fix this problem I used patch studio and loaded all my patches onto the default 003 cache and made this my origonal file, then I used the default 003 cache and made it my patched file- which is what I want it to be restored to. This turns it into a patch so that if i go into HCE I can apply this "restoring" patch first and then I can add the patches I want to use. The only problem is the "restoring" patch takes forever to load every time. Is there an easier way to restore the default 003 cache directly on my xbox so that I don't have this overlapping patch problem?......keep in mind I know that the HCE has a restoring option in the program itself but it never seems to actually restore the cache back to the origonal for some reason.

Well the restoring option is only used to restore the items on all the pages, so anything else that happened to the cache file stays the same
We are working on this, got 2 ideas:
1) Save the clean cache files in a backup folder, when needed copy them over (3-5sec for a mp cache)
2) Decompress the files from your halo directory (would save space but needs some extra work)

cache backup
I was actually thinking the same thing about having the cache in a backup folder. Even if it takes a few seconds I still think it would be fine especially if it is less work. It would be a GREAT addition to v0.8.
