Need a tutorial please.

Post by Bob2k4 »

I would like to add all of these cool maps, guns, vehicles, etc.. that so many people have worked hard on, and i myself would like to start modding. What am i going to need to transfer files from my computer to xbox. I have the whole ftp figured out i just want to know if there are any special software programs that have to have been downloaded on the xboxs before ftping. Thanks much
If all things return to one, what does one return to?

As long as you have a modchip in your xbox, an ftp program, and a crossover cable/LAN cables with a hub, you've got all you need. You'll need to get something like PPF-o-matic to apply the PPF's to the cache00x.map file (where x is 3,4, or 5) and then upload back to the directory on your xbox where you found it (which will be X Y or Z).

I hope I've helped :)

just about,, you dont really need a hub unless you mind losing you internet access for a moment if you just using one NIC, and find the Halo Cache Editor on #xbins ,it stores ppfs, patches ppfs. and lets you do all the basic moddidng like proj. swapping and such

for modchip info go here and hit the newbie forums

Or, you could go the Evolution-X route. Which I don't see why you would't run an alternate dash on a modded box. There are simply too many features that get wasted by not doing so. Any info on all xbox, check www.xbox-scene.com that has anything/everything having to do with xbox there. If you cannot find what you are looking for in the tuts or news, try the forums there. Thats where all the good stuff is.
