check out xbox-scene.com. read a few tutorials and reviews...then decide.
personally i'd go with the x2.2L+. The new 2.3's have a weird usb power tap.

i was reading the forums and i noticed that some people were saying that if you add a mod chip you can get banned from xbox live. i still want to be able to play live too. a few weekends ago, had a lan party w/halo and i invited some guys that i had just met from gamestop. the guys cousin had a red xbox and he had all his games installed on his xbox. do you need a mod chip for that too? reading xbox-scene......

yea,
you'll get banned if you sign in w/ a modded box. Ways around it tho. Just either switch the chip off and run a hard copy of the game, or use a tunneling prog like XBConnect. It's free and anti-microsoft...so that makes it even better :D

Yes, if you sign onto live with a mod chip you will be banned because when you sign on it runs a check to see if you have a modded bios running. If this is the case you HD Key will be banned not your account. You can get it back through many ways. But you need to look at www.xbox-scene.com and read some of the turtorials on live play with a mod chip. If you still want to play live while mod your xbox then you should get a switch. This enables you to still play on live with regular games without the fear of being banned. If you have any ? pm me :)

well they actually have a program for that to set your hd to a differnt eeprom. there are many releases but i think Project X is the one you would want to use, but read the turtorials on how to do it on www.xbox-scene.com
p.s. i have never been banned either.

I just modded my first xbox and listen to Dom and just go to http://www.xbox-scene.com. Another program to change your eeprom is Config Magic final. Most of the software i got, i got from irc.

First, If your going to mod your xbox ok use the Xecuter 2.3b Lite chip. Second, use the X2 4981.06/67 bios. That bios stops your xbox from signing on xbox live when your mod chip is on. Peace...

I want to know if there is a patch for the x2.3l+ that keeps your stupid friends from performing the xbox live update. Like when your playing Rainbow six 3 and it asks you if you want to start a new account. Then my button happy friends like to click away and did the update. i can fix it it's just a pain in the ass.

can you just replace the xbox dashbord with another dashbord or do you have to flash your bios?
