what dvd drive and mod chip should I buy?

ok. i have an xbox i want to mod so i can play h2. but, its dvd drive has the disk read error. i also heard that u needed a mod chip to play halo 2.
what mod chip do u need and u think i should buy (it needs to be or be able to be solderless) and what brand of dvd drive should i buy
if their is something else i need to do or a way for my xbox to be able to play modded halo 2 maps.
plz list what i should buy or alt methods

Always goto Xbox Scene for your modchip stuff.
