injecting weapons

ok, ive searched the forums, but i havent figured out what im doing wrong yet. im trying to inject a FRG into Blood Gulch. im not obsessed with the gun, i just thought that it would be a good starting point, since id like to inject some more weapons. i recursively extracted the fuel rod gun from one of hizlo's new maps, starting with the plasma_cannon itmc tag, and then recursively injected it into a fresh cache from blood gulch. i swapped it out for a plasma grenade, then i opened up sparkedit and put a frg on top of each base. it showed up, and it looked fine. so i load up blood gulch, run to the top of the base, and its there. i walk over to it, and it says "hold X to pick up frg", or whatever. hold X to swap for it. so i tried to pick it up, but as soon as i did the game froze. i thought i had done everything correctly, so im pretty confused. id really appreciate it if someone could let me know how to get it to work, or just what i forgot to do or what i did wrong.
