I might be interested, but I only make *QUALITY* work. I don't screw around with crappy ideas. And I have a very high standard. Also, I'm kinda Obsessive Compulsive about things being perfect, so you may not want me on your team.

More info please!

Oh - I understand the file of a map, can manipulate it do my will, can model fairly well, program tools that I need, and use the tools at hand to do cool stuff.

Just check out my conversion of FissureFall to Xbox on the NMP forum! (work in progress)

I know I've been away, from this topic. Lets bring it back to life.

Its going to take some time to get this going. And I've been working on being fully organized. So that we can manage all the new stuff going on.

I really like what team nmp is doing. And you can't take away from anything they've started. But, organization is definitely the key to sucess here.

Where I feel this group can go from here:

Means of communication. Most likely irc, or a messenger like msn/yahoo.

Some team leaders to bring about ideas and take the action to get members together on the idea.

A detailed profile for each member so we know who we can count on.

Ftp server or some other file storage. I'm setting up an ftp this week with 700k uploads for members.

An area like halmods forum amoung the many other forums to post news, and progress specific to our works.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

where do we go from here?

COMMUNICATION!!! how do we talk?

We need some ideas on how to create and access the profiles.

we have to be up to date with whats going on right now. Nmp has created a interface for switching between they're map pack and the standard halo maps.

And i've looked into the work they've done. because its a real nice to not have to clear the cache. although its been known for while, that you can have multiple default.xbe files to load different versions. Only now have we started to see the full capablities, and tuts and how everything is done.

we shouldn't have to recreate everything, nmp has a good way to change between mods. how they were able to get standard levels and their nmp maps to load. without clearing the cache. which is pretty basic.

From my understanding you have to hex edit the version number of the maps the 2276 changed to a 2275. according to reddogs post here

[/url] http://files.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?p=124310#124310

also credit is due to ultramagnus for his tut out there somewhere..(note to self: OGRANIZATION!.)

Basically, it would be nice to have organized mod packs from work thats already been done. along with new mods/maps.

I'll keep you guys updated as the evening progresses.. Thanks to anyone who replied and offered up your time and skills.

With some effort we can get the ideas out.

PEACE

Anyone want to help me put together a map pack right now??

Post by info_warrior »

I've already started work on a new map pack.

I'll be posting the levels along with the level changes. (shortly if you catch this before the edit.)

i want to start a new poll for which form of communcation we should go with.

well as much as i would like to be part of a team. I hate your ideas about NMP. Let NMP do their own crappy thing. People need to break away and start doing things fresh. New mods, new maps, not mods/maps re-done.
halomods needs fresh ideas completed in fresh new ways. This is what we all should be thinking about.

all i was saying is that we need to keep up with what is being done. and as far as nmp they got the right idea with the interface, which we can take from there and spin off our own new maps/mods packs.

i never said we couldn't do new maps and new mods.

we could make our own ui.maps for each pack, and our new name for each mod.

We could have map pack themes, like sp to mp, snow/weather, vehicles, weapons, etc . I'm really not sure i just know theres much that can be done.

maybe you misunderstood, but if you would like to be a team leader you could easily organize a new map/ new mods, but we need packs and possible themes for all thats being done.

Why should we stop with one map pack. we add all the good mod works. and easily switch between them.

I don't want to hold anyone back from creating new mods. lets just organize whats been done and put it to work, then go from there.
