Vehicle Injection Tutorial

Could some one point me to a tutorial showing how to inject a vehicle over another vehicle?I've been ripping my hair out the last couple days trying to find this info. Thanks!

This involves more than just injecting the vehi meta. You also need to inject the model, collision model, physics, antr, weap(if it has one), bitmaps/shaders, various effects the vehicle uses. Also, you need to fix lone id's and link the dependencies. A fair amount of work. If you want some help you can PM me if you want.

As for a tutorial, I'm not sure if there is one to inject a whole vehicle for xbox. Maybe there is. I haven't seen one though(maybe I haven't looked hard enough). There are tutorials that could help with different parts of injecting the vehicle. And there are programs that are helpful for injecting things like the model and sound(Xinject and HHT3).

Thanks. I originally used xinject to save and inject the whole warthog meta over a banshee already in BG. It worked fine. But when I try to do the same thing over a scorpion in a fresh cache of SW or BG I get an error from xinject saying array out of bounds. Or if it works the game just freezes. So I copied all of the warthog's meta over a scorpion one dependency at a time. The warthog has more though because of the gunner. I tried first overwriting nulled out dependencies with the correct ones from the warthog, but the game froze on loading. So I left those extras out and only replaced all the ones from the scorpion. The second warthog appeared, but it only drove straight forward and backward, no turning, and you still controlled the gun like it was a scorpion. So I opened it up in HMT and checked the warthog radio button instead of scorpion, and that didn't change anything. Then I changed the model of the tires for the warthog, which changed the tires of BOTH warthogs in the game, which completely defeats the purpose of this whole project because I want to have different types of warthogs. Any more ideas? Thanks a lot.

You will have to inject the warthogs model over the model of the scorpion and then change the dependencies.

Hey spammy i need some help with a mod im doing for battle creek.
Ive imported (im not sure how well) a shade turret using up most of the scorpion to inject over and swapped a scen piece into vehicale tag to get it to spawn.
The problem is if i point the altered scen piece to the shade it doesnt spawn if i point it at the scorpian i get a turret but the driver sits well low in the model and hes simply not visible.
Ive nulled out the 2 lone ids on the vehi tag of the shade no joy.
Tried swapping it in hmt for the scorp and the game freezes up.
Tried adjusting the seat of the gunner for the tank no joy.
Tried runnin my head into walls no joy.
I really need your help on this one ive a deadline for the mod and its rapidly approaching so if you can get back to me asap.

The warthog is larger than the scorpion so xinject won't let me do that. How do I get around this? Thanks.

Hmmm I forgot about that. The Warthog's model is probably the biggest one there is in the map that you can replace. You can only inject models over models. I'm not sure how to get around this.

For the shade, swap a piece of scenery for the scorpion. Then, swap the scorpion for the shade. Also, you should name the shades seat as GT-gunner and inject the antr of the shade over the scorpion's antr. If he is invisible, make sure under the vehi tag for the shade that MC Invisible is not checked. Try all that and see if it works.

i'm trying to inject an energy sword & haven't found any helpful tuts, iv'e done all the meta & dependences thing, what is lone ids? would i have to do someting with that? (sorry noob question)

For weapons and vehicles and some other things, you need to fix loneids to prevent the game from freezing. You can use xinject to fix loneids.
