Xbox versus IMA?

So I've been researching sound formats, and was referred to a piece of code that plays Xbox ADPCM files. (Link) From what I've been able to see, it looks like it's exactly the same as IMA ADPCM. There's got to be some sort of difference so I was hoping someone around here might know the main differences between IMA ADPCM and Xbox ADPCM. Unless for some reason, microsoft decided not to support IMA ADPCM in windows (preferring to use their own version) and the xbox adpcm codec is really just an IMA ADPCM codec. Thoughts?
