BLANK SPACE injection

yah im no noob asking a dumb ques, so dont flame me.
i made a peli/dopship blah blah mod and people requested a weap for peli.
i figured i could use the blank meta injector for this, so i extraced the peli vehi meta and the banshee weap meta (not mp) and loaded the peli in the injector. for the size i used what it said in the banshee (1576 or sumpthin), but i dont know what to do for offset
i opened the gun .xml in notepad, and tried some of the offsets (0x00 numbers), but they just gave me exceptions. help?
do i have to open the banshee and get the offset for the weap?
