In any case, Tribas is a forested, moderatley conservative halo-style map. It features Three bases, which is the basis of it's name. (Tri-Bas Tri-Base).

That is the ground texture bitmap I used, as following the Kirk tutorial, and two renders of the unfinished map. The Alpha map distorts the color of the grass to be an ugly green.

The whole map is a relativley hilly, and densely forested map. The trees are thick enough that if your Warthog falls off the path, you'd have a hell of a time getting it back. The red areas on the black and white overhead above are areas that will be covered in trees. The green lines are the teleporters. the two bases at opposite ends have ONE-WAY teleporters all all locations shown there.

In any case, the two team bases (shown isolated above) feature an open pit, two stories deep. The first floor is little more than a small ring, so players can drop into it and fire down on the poor, virtually undefended bottom floor. Or, if the flag capturees are feeling especially bold, a Warthog can fit through the hole in the middle and drop right into the flag room. Of course, rocket warthogs are outlawwed in this map... I'm not a heathen. Anyways, the flag sites in the bottom of the bases, and since you can't fly in Halo, 4 ladders lead up from the pit in each of the four corners. This makes taking the flag a more complicated procedure, if you can't keep the enemy away from the top of the hole with excellent covering fire and support.

In any case, one of the teleporters at that base, I could care less which, links up to a center base. It's a quieter little place, above the tree cover of the entire map so it can see either base. It's located in the center of the rock in the middle of the map. The two teams each have teleporters that link to oppsite sides of the tiny base. A deep hole in the center, deep enough to kill someone who falls into it, also extends upwards from the center. Water plummets through it tow the bottom, for no apparent reason, though it might offer the teams a second of amnesty from enemy gunfire, when they're hidden. The fog from the splashing water is fairly thinck in this room, about twice as foggy as Guilty Spark. There's enough sniping rifle and rocket ammo in the room to allow a duo to hole up in it for quite some time.

This base is the center base, and the location of many heavy weapons. The front is an uncreative, blood gultch style enterance that leads into a sidewinder style base, with some twists. The whole structure is based on defense. The first place intruders will have to fight through is the blood gultch style enterance, which is merged wtih the map to allow a warthog to conveniently drive atop it, and defend against most attackers. If the Warthog succums to enemy fire, then the invaders will have to run into the enemy base, and face a hole in the cieling that leads to the second floor, specificly designed to drop grenades down, or fire rockets. Very middle age defense, but capale of stopping man. a few paces behind that lies dual sets of ladders, indicated with green in this render. They climb to the second floor, and third floor. Further down there is a three story flight of stairs leading to all of the same places as the ladders, and two sets of teleporters. Each team gets one one way teleporter that links to the top floor, and another tot he second. The second floor has all of the power ups, like invisibility and overshield, and the third the sniping rifles and grenades. This base is important to keep, becasue if your team works effectivley, you can capture the flag, teleport out of the enemy base, and have a hog waiting, already half way across the map. If you control the base, some friends can be waiting to stop any people who would follow you thorugh the teleporter.
In any case, that is Tribas, my map, which will remain unfinished unless I gain some hours of free time every day (unlikely) or one of you sees enough potential in it to finish it. Credit for the map, will, of course be mine for modeling, and whoever takes it over for texturing, exporting and sapien... ing.... And whatever else you have to do to finish the map.
EDIT: This isn't first come first serve, if mroe than one person replies. If you're good with sapein and the other parts of modding, you'll get it even if you post last. Also, to help me out, if you have some impressive screens of MAPS YOU'VE MADE, post them in here. I'd rather have this map unfinished, than finished by someone incapable. Here's a link to some good hosting, if you don't have your own. http://image.mycubix.com/default.php?
