Recently, I've been working on my Tribas map, and through the gift of others' advice, gotten to complete the model. Now, I am faced with two new, interesting challenges.
The first appears when I try to export from Max. I own Max 6 and have Windows XP. As the readme in the Max 6 version of Blitzkreig instructed, I put the 4 dlls into System32. Later, I found out that I also needed to put Blitzkreig.dle into the plugins folder, and put it in there, though someone also said stdplugs, so I put it in there too. I restarted my computer, reopened max, and went to the export menu with my model open. Interestingly enough, JMS wans't listed. I looked in the Customize menu in plugins manager as someone suggested I do, and blittzkreig was also oddly absent from there. When I tell it I want to add new plugins, and select the dle, it gives me an error. That's problem number 1...
Problem number 2... I gave my max file to someone, and they converted it to a JMS for me. I just wanted to get it to sapien and play around with that. The JMS was copied fomr the email it came in to three locations. THe first was in data\levels\tribas\models. The other two were in the tags folder under identical places, though one was a folder up. I continued along the guerilla process flawlessly, until it told me to convert my .jms using too. Following Kirk's tutorial, I type in tool structure leves/tribas tribas. It says it can't find the JMS... Intriguing...
Anyways, if anyone has an answer to these problems, their name will be added to the huge slate tablet lost in the woods of Tribas (aka "The Credits," a permenant piece of my map, carved in polygonal stone.)
