creating faces to attatch a base...

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

creating faces to attatch a base...

Post by gecko753 »

im working on a map that basically has a flat ground with a bunch of building attatched to it. im talking like maybe 10 different buildings. so since i dont need to tesselate the ground and make it bumpy, wouldnt it be easier to just place the buildings and put them like 0.01 units above the surface? it would make there be less verticies or triangles or whatever.

right? :?

KKK.
This is it (I've been modeling some nice things  )
You connect the build meshs with the ground mesh
You got to poly edit in edit mesh.
Then click "create"Then useing your verticies, you use the new created faces as a new attachment.
If that what you want to do.

no, thats not it. :(
what i mean is instead of doing that, just place the base there and not remove any faces.
you have to raise it up some, or else sapien will say it cant do radiosity.
and the ground and bottom of base has to be flat.
so in these cases, can you just place the base a bit above the ground, and not create faces to attatch it?
