Ive been trying to make my own cubemap for a while now but whenever I save it, it only covers a small portion off the vehicle I put it on.

Is there some special way to save a cubemap so it covers the whole vehicle and if so how

Okay, I gave up on making cubemaps for Halo PC. For Halo CE, it's extremely easy. Just look at an already editable cubemap file, and just replace the images, and convert to .bitmap.

ILL TELL U RIGHT NOW WHY U CANT DO IT!

*drum roll*

u got an nvidia gfx card!

ya u got teh 64mb one i used to have, til i upgraded to 256mb radeon 9800 XT, its cause ur card cant render that skin into a specular cubemap,(i can tell because ur plasma pistol is non specular)
i had the same problem with that and thats the response i got from the moderators @ halo-mods.com, but now i can do it

maby it has something to do with the 8 rendering pipelines, dx 9.0, or increased pixel shader 2.0 performance?

creating the BITMAP for a cubemap requires no 3d card at all, a 2d card can do it -_- please get your facts right before posting,
the reason you only see a bit of the cubemap, for somereason HMT only exports the first 64x64 pixels of the cubemap when infact the cubemap bitmap is 64x512 or something along those lines, so you are only editing the side part of the cubemap, in a moment i will attach an image it explain.

ah, thats helpful, thanks ghl, but it works the same way in HaloCE, so how do we get the complete cubemap?

Maybe this will work. In photoshop, adjust the size of the cubemap to be what the game wants. Image: Image Size. See if that does it.

I noticed also now that the option to save as an image only came up when i turned mip off. Maybe cubemaps need to have certain settings before they can be saved as such
