Render problems

Look, i saw this before but i searched and couldnt find the answer.

how do you change the background for a render? i need it to NOT be black. i tried "Default Ambient" and it didnt work.

any help? thx

go to render at the top of the screen, then to environment and its at the top just change it or put a background image in.
