Skinning the Hog
Skinning the Hog
I'm using PhotoShop 7.1 with the added .dds support. OK here is the problem, after editing the Hog and injecting it back into the map it doesn't show my new color too bright. I'm using the brightest yellow but you can't tell 'till you get real close. So far I get the best results when I first delete the origional skin and then apply mine, instead of just putting the yellow color over the skin. When I'm saving should I select generate new maps? or keep existing maps? Please anyone who has had success doing this pleeeeeese post how you do it. Btw when I save I use keep existing maps.
Hmm. Sounds like you may be editing the detail texture, not the base texture. You can't see detail textures until you get really close. Detail textures are blended with base textures, and that kind of sounds like your situation.
Maybe you need to edit a different texture? Has anyone else seen this?

Warthog .bmp
I'm editing the vehicle warthog.bmp (not sure exactly it's path) on Blood Gulch and I'm extracting it with Halo Map Editor. Is this the wrong texture? Thanks for the help!
edit:
OK, thanks for the reply. I figured out what I was doing wrong. When you open the .dds file don't generate the mip maps so when you close it, after editing it, then you generate the mip maps, tried it and it works perfect
