Here is a picture of my very first map that I am doing for the HEK (yes its in Gmax, but I trust that someone will make a plugin eventualy.

Most things are going pretty good except that I am having trouble getting the passageway inside the cylinder type base to connect to the roof and have an opening.

I have not thought up a name for this map yet, how do you like it so far?

Thats cool your a hunter and the model is good but you need ms smooth it.
Anyways I used to have gmax.

Ok, I autosmoothed the base and put a pic up on my page, does it look better or worse autosmoothed?

I just downloaded a MC figure to put in my map to test the size of it and...it was like a sandbox. I just finished re sizing the map and now its good and huge.

watch out for smoothing itll add alot more faces then ull want just remember with textures in game most of the time u wont notice it. and ollie stop posting that crap its not legal and its not to be in these forums.

I have 2 little Q's to ask.

1. When I finish making buildings and bases in the map, should I change them to editable mesh and attach them to the terrain? Or should I just leave them as is?

2. If I do have to change them to editible mesh or attach them with the terrain, do I just attach them, or do I also have to weld them to the terrain?

Answer to Q 1: I'd attach them, then release the buildings seperate in a .3ds format.

2: No, they just have to be linked to the reference frame.

The map will probably be ready to be converted to a format the HEK can understand by sunday at the earliest.

If you know how to convert Gmax maps to 3dsm format which I have heard is possible, please PM me or something.

Its pretty much ready I think. I'll put up a pic in a little bit, I just need to know who knows how and is willing to convert it to 3dsm format for me.
