Woh, tone down on how many sides you use on cylinders. It's pretty good right now, I'd like to see this finished and with less poly-usage.

I used 12 sided cylinders.

Oh, nevermind then, thats ok. I use 12-14. It just seemed like a lot more. Hope to see more of this finished.

just to warn you 5000 polygons is like the max for a weapon.

Its actually more like 7-8k, but I'd stay under 5k for lower end comps, and FPS.

Meh, I guess 5k wouldnt be that bad. Anyway, Im thinking of just putting on a weaver rail instead of the carry handle to save faces. Sound good?

I guess, but I'd model the carry handle first and see how it goes. And if this isn't going into Halo (though I'm sure it might) then don't mind High-Poly count.

looks good so far, the only thing i see wrong is that the grip should be more rounded

Looks alright. Definant poly wastage going on though. A few inaccuracies here and there, but not too bad. Keep working on it, and try to drastically lower the poly count. Just adding the barrel and trigger should NOT be 1000 polies. 400 at most, like top most.

The ribbed area on the (shroud?) is what killed me.

not bad but, 3,000 polies and you're not even close to done? that is an issue that will need to be fixed. model itself though looks nice

but for the lack of detail involved it's still unnecessarily high.

There are spots where your understanding of the actual shape of the gun are lacking. One being that it's too thin. Also, the top peice is not completely accurate. Other small inaccuracies here and there too. Get a good understanding of the gun first bud, you'll do better.

Other than what Leiukemia said, it's pretty good...if you fix those things, it'll be a pretty awesome model. :)
