Textures in the other vieports? (3ds)

How do I see the texture that I applied to my shape in the other viewports other than perspective?

ok, where it shows the view angle ie top, right click it and you should see some choices, make Smooth + Highlights is checked and there you go. hope that helped.

or you hit F3 to get wireframe view toggled off.
1: click the viewport you want to view the texture in
2: hit F3

New question, how do I make my shapes transparent so I can see the background picture better?

ok, make a new grey (is it gray?) material and apply it to watever your modeling, then drop the opacity to aruond 50-60% hope that helps...again...

While selected, hti alt + X
