2 questions about skinning on halo1 (pc)

1) any one know how i can make it so parts of weapons and vehicals are transparent(invisible). For example a scope or a handle..?

2) how to change maps skins, i tryed it but it said something about a certain format when i go to inject it..?

The opacity of an object is in the alpha channel of its skin. Color it in black where you want it to be transparent.
