DO NOT WORRY, I HAVEN'T ABANDONED FACILITY
This project is just a quick, few day break from my work on facility.
So...yeah.
The hogs won't do anything crazy like fire red shells, and I won't do anything stupid with the bipeds either. I added the starting line posts and the Mario Kart banner, but when it came time for 0 radiosity, it started at 15 point something. Probably a result of giving the road's rainbow texture radiosity power >_<. So, what you see above is without any radiosity, the posts and banner are there, just not visible.
I will be making a sky with floating neon faces and shapes.
If this works out, this might bring the race game type some more play than usually seen. Or the entire level might be a total flop.

I'm willing to take pics of anything that doesn't have lightmaps, so, yeah..
My notebook is so messed up that I can view maps that have no lightmaps on them!
Other than that, um... That's a little, um, odd. Well, it looks ok.

Lol.
Other ideas i've considered:
Rush 2 stunt track complete with assortment of rush 2 vehicles
A map from Battletanks Global Assault, complete with every tank.
Goldeneye: Surface(possibly with Bunker connected) - This would allow the Moonraker Laser's sniping advantages to be put to use. Facility is far to cramped for it.

Lightning has remade a few Mario Kart 64/Double Dash tracks, complete with Mario Kart music playing in the background. They haven't been released yet, tho.

Looks pretty cool, although..
Just looks a little familier
I'm going to go for the total Mario Kart feel though, Karts with weapons, itemboxes, etc.
It seems that we both have done similar ways of creating it, using an emulator to dump the raw mesh and build apon it. Just by driving on it you can "feel" the low poly-ness of the original mesh, and the difference the engines are.
*shrugs* I still have work to do on mine, textures do need a revamp here, but other than that it's there. ^_^

It's not 100% ripped. Just about 85%. Besides, its just a big rainbow ribbon with railing...It's not as if I'm using hours upon hours of someone elses work. I could of used the model as a guideline and build my own road in under 20-30 minutes.

I might still do that. You can actually feel how low poly the original road is when driving on it.

Has someone else already done this? Most of the model came from geometry dumps from an emulator running the rom, but the (very simple)textures and the starting line posts/banner were done by me.
