My First Model: Walther P99

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

My First Model: Walther P99

Post by RaVNzCRoFT »

Well, I'm going to be calling this my first model. My other one was made in Cinema 4D, it was box modeled, it looked like crap, and I really had no idea what I was doing. But anyway, here's my "first model," the Walther P99. Beautiful gun. Made in 3ds Max 8; plane modeled. Poly-count of 1560. Comments, please. I think the worst part of this model is the terrible job I did rendering it. I'll need to work on that. It looked a lot better when it was actually in 3ds Max, unrendered. However, because it was unrendered, it was pixelated, so I didn't want to post it. Meh, the Walther P99.

I don't know why the back edge of the magazine isn't showing up in that shot. I have looked, and confirmed, that there is indeed a polygon in that area.

Looking good; but is this a WIP? It could use some detail.

good job. Ive never used 3d max before seeing as i dont have the money. . . but i like it. My only suggestion for now is to make a grip on the handle. Right now the handle just looks a little bit raw.

I updated with a topic view as well, so you could see some of the detail I had on top of the barrel.

Seems too narrow, but still very nicely done. Easy fix, anyway.

I'd like to import this model into Halo PC or Halo CE. Can somebody tell me how to do that? I'd like to have it in PC first, but if it's not possible, then in CE.

not possible for pc (it obviously has been a while since youve moddded), but you could do it in ce (i dont know how, since i have absolutely no experience with ce, but there are plenty of people here that could help you with that )
