My second model (AK-47, Avtomat Kalasjnikov)

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

You've got the general shape right, but you can add a hell of a lot more detail to it. To get it into Halo, anywhere up to about 4500 is fine. Also, the front sight, forend and trigger guard need some reshaping because they look a bit... deformed.

LOL, i heard 1000 vertices was the maximum for a halo model, and mine is 800 :)

*loads up max to add more detail*

It can go higher than 6000 actually, but it's best to stay below 4500.

You can put a good amount of polygons on a FP gun model.

Just make sure you cut polies and abuse the Optimize modifier for thirdperson LOD models.

It looks like you started with a model of a pistol, and then you added on to it. It's not bad, but it could definitely use some more detail.

I used a reference picture and plane-modeled everyting, except the barrel, for which i used a tube.

thx everyone for the feedback :)

I will soon post my updated model (when it's finished :) )

The AK-47 handle is in reality somewhat pistol-esque.
