I haven't modeled in awhile, but I decided to try to create an SMG based on a concept drawing I found on Google. The magazine is terrible, and I don't like the grip that much, but I'm too tired to fix it tonight.

Very nice modeling, but I think the gun itself is a little too thick.

Not bad! Add some detail and fix up the mag and they'll be awesome.

honestly, it looks bad. it loks like a quick spline model for most of it, with very little understanding of the way a collapsing stock works, and some very poor understanding of ergonomics and grips, etc. either your model poorly follows a concept, or it very well follows a very bad concept.

please post the concept, as i have some suspicions about your understanding of it.

I'm not sure that the stock is supposed to be collapsable. The concept isn't great, I was just bored and googled 'Gun Concepts' and I thought this one looked cool.

As I said before, this was not intended to be a super-detailed model. It was more to get comfortable with the controls of Max, as I've been using C4D lately. It was plane modeled with that concept as a reference, and I have yet to add several small details.

ah, i see. it's a pretty bad concept sketch. it in no way communicates form, so i'll let the blame fall on the artist for this one ;). you did what you could with that half-ass sketch.

I see skill here, but I don't like the model. Too thick, and I don't like the concept. As for the modelling though, nice job.

I just noticed that I don't see a trigger on your model, but I do in the concept. :P

maybe you have to squeeze the barrel to fire?

pretty good, i like the barrel design
and the wire around the barrel is supposed to be round

and there is a trigger guard, there is no need to add a trigger if you dont want to.

Shhhhh, it's a secret.

I might do some more work on it, but I collapsed the symmetry modifier when I was about half way done, so I'd have to edit a bunch of stuff to make it thinner. Since it's not that great I think I might go for something more detailed and realistic.
