I have a question on skinning...

Ok, so I am trying to make a covenant looking warthog. I made it all purply-pink, but it was still not looking right in the game.
So the I see under HMT3 "reflection diffuse metal," it is a white glare. So I had the idea of replacing that with the banshee's "cubemap banshee" texture. Now the hog looks great...BUT almost all metal has the same reflection.
For example: the shotgun, the sniper rifle, and starangely, the blue base in blood gulch, but not the red base! They all have purple reflections.
why is this happening? The reflection texture is only on the warthog, so why is it being applied to everything else.
It would help if I knew how to take screenshots in game, so you could see what I mean. (I have the trial only right now. I feel that it is safer to experiment on)
Not sure if this should be posted in the tech help forum or something, but I gave it a shot.
Also, the "banshee detail." How would I apply that to the hog? Would I have to replace an existing hog texture, or overlay the texture on my current one in PS? Thanks in advance.
