[WIP] My first map - Confrontation

This is my first attempt at mapping, so if it looks kind of crap, just give me consructive criticism.

It is basically just a cove on the edge of an island on Halo. The Covenant and Human forces have both arrived there at similar times, and have set up bases. They are fighting over a large Forerunner weapons research installation in the centre.

There is one main cove with deep water and an island in the centre. There are also sniper locations on the cliffs and lots of tunnels behingd the cliffs.

Anyway... Here are the screenshots:

The main bay:

One of the bases:

The tunnels:

I have textured the base:

Please tell me what you think, but try and keep the flaming only directed at my mapping skills.

Very nice idea, map is kinda messy looking, but hey. Not bad, especially for a first. Most people start with boxes...

problem

You must be having problems though because I noticed the faces of the sky are collided into each other.
Try dropping your floor rather than raising it up.

Ok. Thanks for the replies. I will try lowering the floor back down. That should fix it shouldn't it? Also, I have had to make the main part of the map bigger to fit everything in.

Don't advertise your project in another person's topic, you'll probably end up getting banned if you keep doing it.

I have been considered one of the top ten mappers and I still use boxes (but I use my boxes in a way that just isnt the same)

Thanks for all the positive feedback people. And yes, I am using GMAX
I haven't really had much time to work on it recently with end-of-year exams and such, but I've fixed the water and some of the textures on the buildings. I hope to work a bit more on it soon.
