Vertices and Indices

Okay, I have a model I want to replace the MC with but I have a problem.
Okay, knowing that the vertices and indices must match to import my model, I added vertices to my model.
Now, both my model and the cyborg model have matching vertices, but not matching indices? How do I add indices so that I may inject this model into the game and replace (instead of remake) the Master Chief model?
Also, if there is a much easier way to import this model (aside from PMI, its being screwy on me) then please let me know. Thanks!

ODST:
2219 Vertices
3816 Indices
Cyborg:
2256 Vetices
3867 Indices
Must go from 2219 to 2256 Vertices
Must go from 3816 to 3867 Indices

My model has: 4138
