YOu have your map pieces
YOu have your box (or any other object, really) called frame
Next the the selection buttons (on the top) there are two buttons.
One looks like this:

Select your level objects
CLicky that button
Now click the frame box.

heres how I do it, first select the non-frame objects you want linked to the frame. next click on the link icon that bacon showed you, then click on select by name *it looks like an arrow with text next to it.* now select the frame from the dialogue box that appears, then click on link. now click on the white arrow *or move, resize, ext. anything to get the link button unselected.* that shoudl have them linked

Heres a little thing about why you cant export it directly to a .jms *in gmax*. Discreete did not want people to use gmax as a mini 3ds max. sooo... when they built gmax and promoted it for gamers, they created gmax so that you could only export through a game pack. This meant that they had to change the max script so that it could not write to a file, thus preventing a person to create their own exporter. They left a hole in the maxscript though, the listener window. Someone discovered that if you grab the text from the listener, you could export to almost any file type that you wanted. This is why today you can create a level and use chimp and grab the output of it or use any other script file and take the output from the window.
