Hey guys im really good with modding but have never really been interested in skinning until now. I have a few questions:
1) What 3d program is the best and can currently allow you to export and import Halo models. (I dont want a program that allows you to edit the stuff but then not be able to play with it.)
2) Do you need a 3d program to change the shape of things? Or can this be done with photoshop? I dont want to change the colors of things, I want to change their models.
3) Where can i find a free download of this program and a tutorial on how to use it?
Hey any help is GREATLY appreciated. Sorry for being a noob.

its not skinning, its modeling well kind of anyway, all u do is change teh models so its not really modeling, anyway the program that seems to work best with out any errors is milkshape 3d, u can get a 30 day trial off their site, its nto a very fun program to use cause its just an all around bad program but for some one new i guess its fine, i would suggest using that. modeling has nothing to do with photoshop

i dont know anyone that has gotten the max obj exporter to work so i would suggest milkshape just because its very reliable for importing and exporting objs nicly into halo.

well, there is one way to get your modeling program...
even though it's no guarantee that it'll work if you do what's blatantly obvious. in fact, it won't work if you do it like that. However... there IS one way you could change it so that it DOES work.... and it lets you get 3ds max 5, not 6.
I know what I'm talking about. look at my first sig pic
if you want to know the method I'm talking about, e-mail me at
