Yo there!

I was wondering how I could make an CE map wherin I can let you start SITTING into a pelican. And not like the vihicle is pulling you with it...
Oh and while you 're explainin' it ( :P ) tell me how to let chief out again without pressing the "E" key.

I saw it too happenin' in AOTCR so it's possible...

BTW don't care about the fact that pelicans fly and move away from the spawning points. I've already solved that for my new map (name not yet known but keep on checking this update tool)
I've played on THE XBOX 360 ALREADY!!! I've played it on october the 27nd 3 hours :P .

like a cutscene every time you start that map.. that i thinks possible with scripting but not ecery time you spawn. i could be wrong i havent sured scripts before.

That may actually be easy....but i dont know about auto eject...

just set the spawn to be on the vehicle. like what you do with ai to make them use a vehicle and spawn on the vehicle, driving it

You could do something like what they have in Americas Army. Make the level have fog and place a stationary pelican or pelicans high up enough so that the fog hides them. Then have players just spawn inside the belly of the pelican where they can drop from.

This would be very possible in a singleplayer map, as we've seen it been done in the Silent Cartographer level.

However, this would not be possible for a multiplayer map. It's impossible to synchronize scripts that put players in vehicles over the internet. *kicks CE's netcode*

However, to simulate the effect, you could make a pelican as part of the map's BSP, with the player's spawn points in the pelican. Then to enter the map, you could either edit the globals to turn off fall damage, and have the players skydive into the map, or make the open part of the pelican be a teleporter.

If you choose the second option, you could put the red team pelican and the blue team pelican in their own skyboxes, attach some sound scenery to it, and make it seem like the pelicans are flying.

Take a look'sy at the truth+reconciliation scenerio tags, if you have them. The scripting should be in there : )
