Cant open 3ds Max 8!

Cant open 3ds Max 8!

When i try to open up 3ds Max 8 i get an error that reads:
This application has failed to start because d3dx9_26dll was not found.

How can i fix that>

you have to reinstalled direct x. its the other set up. read the instructions next time mb?
