I got em both, but which one do I need to edit models in 3ds max 5?
They're .dle format, one that I haven't encountered before. Where should I put it?

Newsflash: I just came across something called "obj2max". Is this the importer and exporter combined in one?

This one's .dle format, though. I tried putting it into my 3dsmax/plugins folder , but 3ds max gave me an error message when starting up. After trying to import the obj file despite the warning, I got a message the format was unrecognised.

i got mine to work but the problem is that max messes up the indicie count so ull have to find a differnt plugin that one doesnt work correctly unless u just want to mess with the models, but if u want to put them back into halo then u wont be able to

I'm not planning in importing them back into HMT at all. I just wanna screw with the models, but even that doesn't seem to work.

Now tell me: Where does this plugin go?

when ur extracting it with winrar, in the extraction menu u should go to teh plugins section of max and then there should be a sub folder in it, i believe thats where i put it, hardwareshaders or somthing try that.

Hmm... I'm still getting an error.
"No appropriate import module found"
then:
"Improper file format"

I am supposed to file>import... the file, aren't I?

u might just need a different one, i kept trying til i got one to work, but still injecting is the bad thing.

again, I'm NOT gonna inject anything back in. I just wanna play around with the models in 3ds max.

In HMT, if I select a model, I find that a model often consists of several seperate parts. Do I need to "extract all"?

And could you please post a link or two for that plugin? I've been searching for two days now.

I'm starting to give up hope. I've tried 4 different plugins, none of them work. I got close with one of 'em, though, as I actually saw the .obj extension as a recognized format when trying to import a model from HMT.

Somebody... post a good plugin and make it sticky.
I got version 5 of 3ds max - did I say that allready?

Use stdplugs, close MAX, start again. Tell me if that does it. :)
