A few questions about mapping.

In this thread I would like to explain my whole method of creating a map. It would be really really helpful if someone could tell me what I am doing wrong!

3D STUDIO MAX:
1.I create a box and then flip the normals
2.I create another box inside that box to use as the "floor"
3.I model "floor" to my liking
4.I apply custom made materials (Made in 3DS MAX)
5. I export as a .JMS file to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\data\levels\MYLEVEL\models\MYLEVEL.JMS

TOOL:
1.I go to the Halo CE directory
2.I type: tool structure levels\MYLEVEL MYLEVEL
3.I define 1 material and it says some were not defined
4.I leave materials where tool put them.
5. I run it again and it finally makes the .scenario file.

SAPIEN:
1. I open it in Sapien.
2. I do Radiosity_quility 1 and radiosity_start and radiosity_save.
3.Then I can see the ROUGH outline of my level but it is COMPLETELY dark and gray.
4.That's about when I put a hole through my computer screen I'm so mad.

Please, if anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong or what is needed in addition please tell me. I have made about 5 simple maps and they have all come out this way.

How exactly do I do that? Will it make it lighter?

Yes it will be the biggest light source.Open your scenario file before you run radiosity. On top the is sky chose add then select a sky in the tags\sky folder and then go from single player to multiplayer(its right under the path)

Thanks, that made it a lot lighter but where are my textures? Evrythings gray. I only had 2 textures. One for the ground and one for the wall.

Well I am upgrading my PC very, very soon so I'll make sure to upgrade that as well. Would they show up in the final level?

It's not just the graphics card man. I had the same problem when I compiled my map, which also only had two textures. I was trying to do it on a Geforce 2 MX 64mb... I know the problem is in either the shaders or the model material editor and shader/bitmap/tif file names not matching up. I had posted about it, and Patrick attempted to help me too : )

I'll try it on my new Geforce 6800 just to be sure it's not the card.
