need help with the Unwrap UVW thing in 3ds max

Post by ledhedgn »

after i get done with the unwrap uvw thing and i try to go back to editable mesh, i get this error message:
A modifier exsists in the stack that depends on topology.
Changing parameters may have undesirable effects.

The dependant modifier is: Unwrap UVW

Are you sure you want to continue?

and the effect if i choose yes t ocontinue is everything i did before dosn't keep itself applied, the only way i can reaply it is if load up the map from my last save, wich i did right before i click on Editable Mesh. How in the heck to i fix this, i would really appreciate it if someone helps me

This is incredibly common and is not an error. You have to convert it back into a mesh, just right click go to convert to mesh. Your model's UV's will still be ok. If you did go back to editable mesh from UVW by clicking the topology, it would jsut undo everything. Same with everything else that has a topolgy in Max. You just have to re convert it to mesh to incoroprate it into the model.

Duh.
