Yeah, im kinda getting into mechs since i saw the tutorial on how to create that thing.

Of course, its 34k polygons now, but it will be muuuuch lower when i want to get it into halo

OH MY GOD!!!!!! dude it looks cool just wat the hell is it going to be? a sentail on QZ? or a player model? now the player model thing would be awesome
PS: make it for Halo pc also!
PPS: if u turn it into a Playa model keep the upper half intact. Hadline: Master Cheif in horrible accedent! We can rebulid. JK but realy leave the upper half the way it is and the bottom half this!

No way that should be 34k poly's... What, did you make it out of primitives? Those cylindricals look very high poly. It looks very nice though.

Mebbe, but those are primitives with lots of extruding and stuff, and there are lots of details in them, so i also used cut, inset, bevel, etc etc.
And lots of modifiers of course

Or do you mean that i first counted the triangles, after that the polygons which means that i didnt make a miscount?

yes, you did not make a miscount, it was 34,000 triangles/polies.

lookin good there

. Im not a big WH fan, but I gotta admit that they have some nice concepts.
I have a dvd which covers rigging these types of vehicles which shows hydraulics and stuff, its pretty cool, maybe you should check it out

Yes, my next mech is going to use hydraulics, maybe this one too, but meh, i dunno

It does look cool though.

But right now i gotta add some detail

wow that's impressive. it looks sweet. i hope you keep the weapons reasonably sized, instead of the constant "OMFG NUKEZORZ!" mech look.

I lied, I hate it. Really, dumbest looking mech EVAR. I don't mean any ofense to you though. Primitives = high poly.

still, i wouldn't bash it if i were you, seeing it's better than everything you've ever done.
all of the other mechs i've seen posted here are shit. this one is top notch modeling. is it the dumbest looking mech because it doesn't have unrealistically sized missiles, 8000 caliber machineguns and such? because if that's your gripe, THOSE look like shit.

Dumbest mech ever? Well, uhm, try to make somethng better than this one
And the weapons still need to be modelled

Theyre going to be reasonably sized, it should fit him perfectly

Dumb mech, reasonable modeling. Model something from mechwarrior, they are 18,000 times cooler. Like the atlas.

The design sucks, the model is good (despite being made from primitves) . It's a box on legs...
And snaf, I make my own designs, I make what I like.
I don't make stuff from Tv shows and such because most of the junk on there looks lame. Like star gate SG- 1 it's a pretty cool show but the designs of the ships are like: Wtf?? A ship that has a pyramid on it's back?

the perimitives are edited and connected which is better than I can say for some models, and some of that such as the chair and details around it are not perimitives.

Sigh...
It maybe a edited primitive, but it comes nowhere NEAR to a box on legs. If you can't spot the detail, i render uit 1600x1200... ._.
Call it dumb, but i find it cool. It's your opinion after all.
