HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

Ok every time i make a new skin for Halo, i do everything right, injecting, etc.. But when i try to run the game it gets past the opening sequences then freezes on a black screen... I also cannot access the file whilst the game is open? I had no problems before but now i have.. I have tried un-installing and re-installing the game but to no avail.. I'm starting to think it's HMT but i am not sure?

There appearsto be some sort of conlfict between the two.. One stops the other if ran previously the the other.. So if i run Halo then HMT wont let me see my skins.. If i run HMT then Halo wont load properly?


Please could somebody help me?

Well you never know if you could have screwed something up. Tell us every step you did.

I opened HMT, went into the map i wished to use, went into Bitmap menu, clicked on warthog skin, saved it as DDS, opened it in Photoshop, edited it, saved it as 1 ALPHA Dx somethin (second from top) went back to HMT, went back to the warthog skin, injected it and tried to play the game..

Am i supposed to extract the .DLL files of the HMT into the root directory of Halo or something?

I'm thinking about un-installing then re-installing HMT, but i can't find the un-install file at all

I have actualy trieddoing that but still no effect.. I even un-installed EVERYTHING to do with Halo but it STILL wouldn't do it.. Bloody thing

You are not able to access bitmap files while the game is open. And cannot edit a map while playing a map. Do the things before starting the game.

HMT doesn't have an install/uninstall file because it is a flat out .exe
You download it and open it. You seem to be doing the steps right, but you must be screwing with somethign else as well.

Are you only doing one skin at a time? If not, try just one. Also, if you have AIM, IM me and send me the .dds and i will try to inject it. If it works then it is something you are doing on your behalf. If it doesn't work, then try re-extracting it.

Also i am only doing one skin at a time so it can't be that.. I don't try to edit files whilst the game is open because i know it effects things.. I edit THEN open the game up and do nothing else... Before i open the game i click on the file i have edited THEN open the game up..

I've even tried not editing or doing ANYTHING, just opening the game up with that map open.. Still freezes...

you cant have HMT up when you start halo

IF u can't have HMT up when running Halo then how on earth are the skins supposed to work??? Lol... The game has to read from something to get the skins and since you don't save anything into the game files, what does it read from? Besides i just tried that.. Opened Halo THEN HMT... Tried to click on Blood Gulch, but when i clicked "ok" i got the "NO WAY!" noise

Heya.. I've figured out where i am going wrong.. I didn't know that i was supposed to click "SAVE" (not save meta) after injecting it, lol... I'm a freakin moaron!
