how about you get gmax and compare?gmax has fare less tools then 3ds max to get that thing that you want

gmax has tools good enough to model that low poly. i have gmax. i don't use any different tools in 3ds max than i do in gmax.

lets put it this way. when u buy 3ds max you are buying a renderer, nothing else except a FEW touch ups that gmax doesnt have

Since this mech is so boxy you could apply an optimization modifier(yes katarn i know).

Damn straight brother!
Looks pretty cool to me though (the model). But what is with the extra tesselation on the legs? Just above the ankle?
Also, never use teselate... It is pretty much useless and just adds to many Poly's.
