Does anyone know if there is a jms plugin for gmax, and if so, where to download it?
Thanks.

quick instruction on how to use chimp:
put chimp 1.6 in your gmax\scripts folder. when you are ready to export your model, click on the red hammer icon that is to the right of your create and modify icon thngies. go down where it has a dropdown list- you should see chimp. click the dropdown list and select chimp. then you will see that you have room to scroll down, because chimp opened. it has a checkbox that says listener window. check it. then click export halo structure. it will take a while, but when it is finished go find your grablistener program that you downloaded with chimp. open that and it will ask you to save it. navigate to halo custom edition\data\yourlevel\models and save as "yourlevel.txt" that will make a text file in your level's folder. open the txt file and delete everything at the beginning before and including the line ***begin jms***
then scroll down to the very end of the file and delete everything after and including the line ***end jms***
save your new file as yourlevel.jms and compile with tool! you are done

ill get pics and put this in the tut section

to link it to your frame there is a button at the top left side of your toolbar. i think its next to the select button (<-the mouse pointer) and it looks like a link between too boxes. click that then click on your level geometry and drag to your frame box

i think he means the text file, but it doesn't actually create a jms file.
Anyway, how do i know if it's a jms? will it be listed in WE as

splinter
JMS File

or what?

EDIT: Should the file be listed as

splinter
File

in WE?

EDIT 2: It's working ok now. I re-exported the txt file, deleted the stuff, and then renamed it to splinter.jms in WE.

Go under the "create" tab, then select box and draw out a box. Name it "frame" and the link it to the skybox using the icon with two boxes linked by a chain (next to the select icon in the top toolbar)

when u use the grablistner.exe program, you can save the file as anything you want. if you have a hex editor, just go ahead and save it as mylevel.jms, then open it with a hex editor and delete the lines that you are supposed to. if you dont have a hex editor, save it from the grablistner program as mylevel.txt so that you can open it with notepad and make the changes. when you are done with the changes go to save as, make sure it says all files at the bottom there instead of a specific filetype like .txt, and save your file as mylevel.jms thats it.

saving the txt file as mapname.jms for the grablistener doesnt do anything. The command prompt will only recognize the real jms file.

you cant just have a frame and export, you gotta have some geometry linked to the frame

make sure you save it as mapname.jms rather than mapname.jms.txt
