need help getting fp models to work

there have been a million topics like this and ive tried everything. how do you get fp models of guns to work. it never shows up!

i make the model like u normally would then add the markers that it needs. export once into weapons\myweapon then again into weapons\myweapon\models\fp. when i export my model it is centered at 0,0,0. in guerilla i change the model to weapons\myweapon and the collision to my collision. i scroll down to the bottom and change the fp model to weapons\myweapon\models\fp. wat else is there

the fp model is the same as the normal model?so did you anything special with the fp model in 3ds max?becuase you don't need to scale it and you also don't need the collision-geometry.

i didnt move the fp model anywhere. its at 0,0,0. any pointers as to where i should move it for it to show up?

no just use the model file the same as the fp file

actually emu, which fp animations(right below fp model in weapon tag) are you using?
I've currently found out that if you use the nodes of a gun(example: needler), you must also use the needlers fp animations or it won't show(uless you've made your own of course...).

i dont think he's talking about fp animations.....just fp models.....

well actually, i made it out of the assault rifle and used the assault rifle animations but it says that the node counts dont match and that it wont animate when i compile

do u mean to make the markers in all my models from the plasma rifle or plasma pistol or just change the animation to the plasma rifle?

ok:
first the fp model doesn't need animation.
second.I would use the plasma pistol or plasma rifle markers because they are different from the assault rifle or the pistol
third.you can change later the weapon tag and set all correctly so that it works and looks and shoots like a assault rifle.In your case i would prefere the plasma rifle because its very simillar to the assaultrifle.
Files that you need:
Bitmaps,Model,FPmodel
You dojn't need collision or animation.
weapons\bitmaps (bitmaps)
weapons\models (model)
weapons\fp\models (fpmodel)

well you dont really need the bitmaps file, only if you have special bitmaps for the fp model. I tried to put the sniper screen and the counter on it. They showed up 3rd person (although the counter didnt work >_<) The fp model didnt show. But if your using things like those you would make a new bitmaps. But for regualr fp that are the same you dont have to.

because the plasma pistol or rifle does have other animtion types and work better

i did that and now it doesnt say that their node counts dont match, but it still isnt showing up. i think i have to move the fp model to about mc's shoulder height so it would be in his fov?

give me your data\weapons\whatever gun folder and i'll try to convert it
