quick question

how do i get the .dds files "unwrapped".(i think that's wht it's called anyway.

do u mean UVW maps in 3ds max?

i don't know. when i open the bitmap i extracted, it's all like stuck together.

Ok, click on the model with the texture you want to adjust. Now click on the arrow on the drop down box where it says "modifier list" (This should be towards the right side of the screen). Select "Unwrap UVW" from the list. Now, on the right side, look for "edit" under the Parameters menu. Click that. You should see a new window appear. Click "mapping" and mess around with "flatten mapping", "normal mapping", and unfold mapping". These will break the model up into seperate pieces, but each mapping will break it up differently. You should see the texture in the background, it's now just a matter of using the tools to move, align, scale, etc. the parts until they match up with the texture. Hope that helps.

hes trying to edit a skin he extracted with hmt
u cant "unwrap it" u have to edit it like it is

you need the .dds plugin for photoshop. It also works for paintshop pro. Search it in the files forum under utilities.
