Heh, not legally, but u can. Student liscensces are alright if you are just studying it but once you have finished then you gotta pay up lol.

gmax is MUCH harder to work with though, because not only are all the tutorials geared towards 3ds max, but the file formats and systems and units and everything are all quite different from 3ds max and Halo's parameters...

yeah its harder and you cant render

but if you have 3dsmax you can

get the student license save your euro for 20 weeks
