The Core

well i decided to do a really small map for a change. i've been working on this when i get a bit frustrated by modeling Last Stand's bsp.

as you may have guessed by the title (or not, some people are slow), that this map is based around the power core of a covie ship. i'm planning on doing this with working gravity lifts to move between each floor. if anyone can help me with working gravity lifts, please PLEASE PM ME!!! also, if you are willing to donate H2 covie textures, please let me know. this map will only turn out great if you guys let me know what you want to see! i've placed 16 elite reference models around, so you can see how close quarters this would be on slayer.

i'll post more renders of what i'm doing later on. the flagrooms have not been completed, and neither has the level above the reactor. this should be a pretty hot map once i'm done with it. please ignore the applied texture, it was only for tests. this texture is actually a lot better looking than what i've done with it, it doesn't do it justice.

Make it big.. I assume you're taking this from the Halo 2 core where the Cheif delivered the bomb. That place was pretty big... and I'm sure you could add stuff to detail it, like passages for mantinance.

well, see, the point is to keep it small. it is going to size up from the current, but not up to gargantuan.

EDIT: veegie made it known to me that i forgot to credit him with the skin and bumps applied to the concept, so my original post has been edited, giving him credit.

The map is very nice, simple and complicated at the same time in a way.

thank you. i realize that this map is indeed too small, so i have sized it up quite a bit. the problem i saw is that when you spawn you'll be relatively poorly armed, and close to the action... so, this will become less of a problem with it being sized up a lot.

You all know that in the scene wher the MC dropped the bomb, that whole backround, was just a painting right? Same for the giant thing the gas mining station on threshold was hanging on, and the city in the E3 video.
