Finding out slope of an object

im trying to make a map and i need to figure out the slope of an object, how do i do this
your help is greatly appreciated
p.s. if it is something like rise over run, can you tell me how to find that out

You mean how steap? Or how to make a slope?

Take the co-ordinates of 2 vertecies. Say it was like (3,4) and (8,9). You have to divide the change of Y(4 and 9) over the Change in X(2 and

. So it would be 9 - 4 .... 5
............... ------ = --
............... 8 - 3 ....5
So your answer is 5. Then you do the whole y=mx+b and what not. Is that what you meant by slope? otherwise MC can really only go up a 65-75 degree angle.

You could just rotate a plane to the same angle as what you want to measure from 0 and see.. Or you could do it the mathamatical way.

i thought that mc could only go up an incline of up to 45 degrees... 75 would be pretty crazy

It's basic pre algebra, like resevoir said. But MC can only go up a 45 degree angle, not 65 to 75! That's INSANE! That's almost straight up!
You just take the two vertices and count the units over and up they are.
If they are the same it's a 45 degree angle. Like, 4 up over 4 left. 4 up and 3 left might be a 70 - 75 degree angle.
BTW the steeper the slope the slower MC walks up, and the more unbelievable an angle it is. In real life, it's extremely hard to walk up an even 34 degree angle. Walking up a 40 degree in a forest, or dirt, is virtually impossible, you will just fall down. I remember trying to climb a 45 degree dire hill in a forest as a kid, I almost took my head off when I fell down and hit a tree!
