issues with the *.dds files

NO im NOT a n00b, i put the .dds file format file in the right places in my adobe photoship 6 folder but whenever i try to open the files it still says

Could not open [file] becuase it is not the right kind of document.

however i AM new to skinning halo, some1 plz help me out with what could be wrong

your supposed to save as a dds, not open it up as one.. if im correct.. thats the way i did it.. but that was a long time ago..

ya it saves it as a .dds........ then what do i do?

your using banshinject correct? if not then i probably cannot help you.. but i suggest reading the readme, several times, thoroughly.. then try to do it.. also (if i remember correctly) you cannot have any alpha layers in the dds..

no im using halo map tools v2... y cant u have alpha layers with it?

thats what i read with the tool i was using.. just try it, it may work.. just for kicks, ya kno

halo map tools works great did you download the plugin for photoshop or paint shop pro then you put the plugin in the folder then restart photoshop and it should work http://developer.nvidia.com/attach/5747

yes, as i mentioned b4, i have the .dds and have restarted. actually ive had it for a couple of months.

I think the newest HME can extract to tga as well.
