[WIP] Sunset mesa

I have been working on this all day since last night, it's a mesa set atop a plane, in the desert. There is two lakes and a pond on it, and the two bases might be the BloodGulch bases, unless someone can draw a cooler one for me. It has to be able to stand alone, meaning it cannot be built into a wall or anything.
Here's a render so far:

I modeled it from a plane, and added onto it with polygonsm and vertex create. It should be a hug map when done.
Te part to the right of the map is going to be a cliff. Giving it the mesa feel. I hope I can get someone to skin this.

has to be in a box. only use planes to test an idea, but don't keep building on it. you have to use an enclosed form.

you can create a skybox after you finish the map thats not hard at all
o yeah i wouldnt use the BG bases come up with your own design

Yeah, see, the closed world rules, mean exactly that. As long as it is enclosed (no open edges) it can be a map. And it doesn't have to be a box either it just has to be a sealed world.
My facorite type of modeling is using the create polygon/vertex tool. That's how the whole thing got that big. I just added onto it. That is also how I got it so dang low poly to. It is aproximately 778 poly's right now.
I plan to make a cliff off the right side of the map, and thren go out really far (like on the Halo level in Halo 1) and then have the game end. See that whole part in the middle? The part with the hills and lake? That is what the plane originally was. The rest was added with create poly/vertex.
I might make my own bases, but I suck at coming up with designs for one... I like tower bases (as does everybody, so it seems) but I have discovered they are damn hard to make fair, and not base to base snipable.

So a tower base meaning a base that allows a sniper to snipe intruders but not see all the way to the enemies base...perhaps with a hill in the middle that blocks the view?
I've been base experimenting, so if i get a complex towerish base going, you wanna see it?

well then this is a good thing, the sealed world rules yada yada yada. oh how much more simple everyhting else is going to be for me muahahaha. and so much more low poly!! well it's turning out pretty descent so far, bu i would've used a higher poly plane. i tend to do 50x50

Yes, you are. LOL. See what createpolygon/vertex can do?

I planned to use a mesh smooth on the hills and stuff sooner or later (although I forgot up til I read your post about high poly)...
Now all I have to do is add the double flight ceiling (roof), redo some of the flat parts to make them hill-able, and noise modify the mesa's sides to make em more rough and rock like.

I ahte it when things like taht happened
^^Spelling, whoo
I remember when i lost a bunch of my gun models because of a virus...boy that sucked so badly.
I still have my pistol though (whoo)
Hey snaf, sorry, but this other guy completely new to mapping was the first ever to recieve one of my models (my handgun), so he can screw around with it, and see how i made it.
Lol, first model given to a public person. You want any of my models to play around with? Anyone? I'm bored....

If you're really bored I have something I'd be interested in having you model for my upcoming map.

PM me if you are interested.
