Environmental effects?

Ok I need some help with a map I am so desperately trying to make. They are:

1. How do I put snow in a map? Like falling snow? The stuff that falls on you in the level? Like assault on the control room, where your in the canyons?
A. Is there a way to contain the snow? Like make it outside in the open but not in the tunnels?

2. How do I put water in my map? You know, water like on Death island? With the vehicle slowdown effect?

3. How do I make smoke? Like smoke from a burned patch of ground in a lifeboat's crash crater? Like on Halo the level?

I would like to use this information for several maps and a special spot in my map.

Theyre all possible. That's how it got into the game, lol. I know water isnt that hard and neither is smoke (it's just scenery) but the weather was in one map, it was snowy outside and not inside. It was called Terralan. Its pretty good. I havent messed with snow, but its possible.

Ya, it's gotta do (for snow) I think you gotta get the particle system tag.
And the ones for it.
The material name (weather poly) I think and you gotta apply it to where you want it (I tihnk)
Either that some some portal junk.

for water, there is a shader of bitmap or something makes the water, you just make a plane(like a big flat thing not like air-plane) and place it whereever u want the water to be and apply the water sahader(i think, im not at all sure)
