New map LOTS o' questions!

I got some questions and a grand idea for a map, I've been modeling ofr like 2 hours but this tihng keeps farking up. I am trying to make like a canyon like in assault on the sontrol room. You know how the walls go straight up and like are flat on top? I am trying to acheive that. I tried drawing the shape I want, but when I convert to mesh extrude, thre bottom half doesn't have a bottom! Yes, I looked on both sides.

Next: How do I make it snow? Like on assault on the control room? Is there a way to contain it so it doesn't go in my tunnels, or bases?

How might I make a certain object glow a color? Like emerald green?

How do I make those mesa things? Like it goes straight up (with a little displacement) but then it's flat on top?

Snow you have to use a snow texture, although if you want some Ice effects (the 'hog slides around) you will need to open the bitmap in Guerilla and select Ice as the material type. glowing, I don't really know, probably in Guerilla again. If you want a mesa to go STRAIGHT up (right angles at the ground and top) click the faces where you want the mesa to be and on the tool bar Find the Extrude bar and enter a number of units you want it to go up, and then you could displace it by moving the verticies at the bottom.

Ok thanx for the extrude help but, I didn't mean snow texture, I meant like snow falling from the sky. Like a fog or something.

That's weather. I haven't seen that too much in maps.

Oh, weather, I believe you do that by editing the .scenario in Guerilla, but I'm not sure.
