how do i use a skin?

I am a complete idiot when it comes to modding. i was wonder what i do with skins when i download them. how do i apply them to a map?

Is this for normal halo?
and is it a DDS file?

Well, I think your name is way to innapropriate for this site. And Your talking Halo PC right(YES! Because yuo cant apply skins in CE!) If it is a .ppf you need to get ppf-o-matic and patch the file the read me tells you to. Its Easy. If its a .dds you need to open the map in HMT3.5 and overwrite the bitmap with the new one(again theirs probably an read me

Well then......ah whatever. No one cares anyway.
And there's ways of applying skins to CE maps. It's not too hard either.
