Ok, first you need to tell the prompt where your hCE directory is. if you intalled is standard it will be
D:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition
then push enter
it will change directories. Then type tool and proceed from there

it says Program is not recognized as an internal or extrenal command, operatable program or batch file.

becasue I cant take a screen shot i will tell you the problem. I think the program only sees the "D:\Program" of "D:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition". So lets start there or you could email me you AIM if you have one and we can chat through there my email is

you dont jsut type int he directory... first you have to type:
cd C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition
then you will be in the right directory.
You ahve to type the "cd" first because that mean "change directory".
the easiest thing to do would be to make batch files or put a copy of command prompt (a COPY) into your halo CE rote directory folder. then jsut open that and all u ahve to do it type in like
tool model weapons\jigganator
thats a funny word.
hope that helps

ok thanks guys i did it! But... ive run into a problem exporting my level in tool. the tutorial says to type "tool structure levels\(my map) (my map)" and it says
"building imediate geometry...
file_open ('data\levels\(my map)\models\(my map).jms) error 0x00000002 The system cannot find the file specified."
and then i go into Guerilla and look for the created tag but it doesnt appear. This will (hopefully) be the last time I will for your help.
(p.s. The reason I never say the name of my map is becasue I dont know if some one would try to make it or before I finish this one. Or if the map is too big and I have to start all over again.)

Well, first make sure that the jms is saved there and that all the folders are in the right place (duh), if it is, make sure that it isn't being used somehow by a lingering 3dsmax.exe or something. And make sure it isn't set to read only as that screws some programs up.
I'm not sure, but it could happen if the map name has any spaces in it.

ok this may sound stupid but how do you save a jms file there?

Get the blitzsomething plugin and export it in 3dsmax. Or in Gmax, get chimp and do all that stuff (I dunno how that works.)

Double post (eep).
Anyway, you have to have level geometry. That's what a .jms is. And the .jms is turned into a .scenario (and some other tags) using tool. You can't just make a .scenario without having the other tags generated.
