HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

I made a basic map and went through the steps successfully to build a .map file. (NO error or warning messages). When I open the map file in Halo CE I get an "EXCEPTION!" error message and Halo immediately closes. I cannot run my map. Any ideas? I went back through and redid all the steps

Exported JMS
Build bitmaps/shaders
Ran tool to make scenerio file
Assigned sky and default equipment
Ran radiosity in Sapien - no prob.
Assigned vehicles
Ran radiosity again - no prob.
Ran tool to build map file

All showing successful -- no warning messages or errors

map file is in the map directory
Open Halo CE -- Multiplayer -
Select my map -- Open

EXCEPTION ERROR and Halo CE immediately closes

are you trying to play ctf ?

plat slayer mode

if you dont place flags ctf mode dont work.

I know this is obvious but have you added spawn points? and what about different game types? are some enabled, other's not set up..

You guys are right. I figured out that I didn't add "flags" yet with CTF, therefore when opening that game, it crashed. When I opened "slayer" it worked fine. Whew!

Now on to adjustments. I should have the map ready within a week barring any problems (which are pretty much guaranteed). If I can get past making basic bases and then populating, I'll be fine.
