yep tha's going to be a vehicle available to you in Last Stand. similar to the one in the E3 video, on a smaller scale. Gun Towers seemingly fire a mortar like that of the wraith, but of course, with a much bigger BANG!!! :twisted:

this is a step closer to tactical combat. But still insanely far from it. You need to have a reason to dodge these, but it shouldn't be an insane killing machine, hard to get it even.

have guns kill in 2-5 hits. 1 for headshot. Make the player have to stop to shoot accurately, have the crosshair sway from side to side while moving. Artillery pound the ground, but not be able to target single soldiers, have the artillery behind a wall of some sort, so it isn't able to see the enemy soldiers and is protected from the enemies. Deployable machine gun, like in day of defeat, that takes teamwork to take out from a position, one draws its fire from cover, and the other throws a grenade into the window, etc. Prometheus should be able to do stuff like that. The engine is pretty limited tho. Prone would be a treat too. Cover galore, have barriers and things to hide behind, because, if you rashly ran around a corner, you could be 30 feet back in about 1 second, after being hit 20 times with 50 cal. fmj

hmmm, maybe we'll have to do that! going prone would be sweet! and i have the human turret as well as the covie one. making them deployable would be great. there will be plenty of cover, via the blown up civi cars.

To do prone you'd have to create a ton more animations... and it might have to be a replacement for crouching...

You know what would pawn.... if you released a sequel that was an exact (well, close enough) replica of the E3 demo level. Then, if you figured out how to do AI scripts, you could replicate the E3 demo. OR, simply make spawn point near deactivated bipeds, enable the bumping thing for, like, 20 sec so people could bump into a marine, elite, brute, grunt, whatever. Then run the rest of the map so that there is a platform in the distance with a pelican, timed to wait for a few seconds (35) then will go and fly to the drop off zone so the first player could be the master chief and he could go and kick azz. Then the dropship would fly back and forth so if mc died, well no one would care, first off, but second, he could jump right back in.


That was a creative moment.... screw it. There's as much chance of that happening as Bungie giving out the Halo 1 source code (if they did, I would have SUCH an easy time putting together an E3 demo)


So the map still looks cool, keep it up.


P.S. Not hold that paragraph against me. It is 5:04 AM here and I did not get a second of sleep.

u know i agree with katarn. tatical combat is really cool, if u were to take this aproach (and i personly say u should) u would need to change the skins from Spartans (spartans dont fight tacticaly) to marines (who would because of lack of strength and numbers... cough, cough... ODSTs... cough)

i think spartans do fight tactically. it's not like, oh here i am, let's all shoot now! as for being an odst... maybe in a sequel :) . this has taken long enough so far, and i'd like this to be done and get people playing.
